NH Ski Racing Age Groups

The racer's age as of 12/31 determines which age group they belong in for a given ski season.

J6

J6 racers are age 7 and below.  The USSA/NHARA does not encourage racing at this age, but J6 racers are allowed into some open races and into some regional Buddy Werner League (BWL), races.  At Crotched Mountain Tiger training is one day per weekend from 9:30-12:30 on either a Saturday or Sunday schedule.  Tigers are separated into groups depending on skill level.

J5

J5 racers are age 8-10.  They are eligible to participate in BWL races.  8 year olds may participate in regional races but they are not eligible to earn points towards the state finals.

J4

J4 racers are age 11-12.  They are eligible to participate in BWL races.

J3

J3 racers are age 13-14.  They race in events all the way from regional to national depending on rankings.  Crotched Mountain will have an active J3 class for the first time this year.

J3 / J4 / J5 New Hampshire race schedule

J2 / J1

J2 (age 15-16) and J1 (age 17-19) racers compete in events all the way from regional to national depending on rankings.  Crotched Mountain does not currently have an active  J2/J1 program, but a program will be created if there is interest.
